Each season in Kyrgyzstan brings distinct road conditions.
- Summer (June – September): The best time for high-altitude roads, as the snow has melted, making routes accessible for most 4x4s.
- Spring and Fall (April-May, October): Conditions vary by altitude, with early snow in fall or residual snow in spring affecting some routes. Mid-altitude passes like Sary-Jaz are more manageable during these seasons.
- Winter (November – March): Many passes are closed or nearly impassable, only some of the passes might be open.
