Border Permits in Kyrgyzstan

What is the Border Zone in Kyrgyzstan?

Kyrgyzstan is home to some of the most breathtaking and remote destinations, many of which are located within its border zones with China and Kazakhstan. These areas are considered special zones due to agreements between the neighboring countries. For instance, Kyrgyzstan and China established a 50 km buffer zone along their border, a practice dating back to the Soviet era when the countries had tense relations. In these border zones, military checkpoints are in place to monitor entry and exit, and without the proper permits, even locals are not allowed to pass.

We are here to help you obtain the necessary border permits to visit these incredible areas of Kyrgyzstan.
