Best time for visiting Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan has a continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. You can visit Kyrgyzstan at any time of the year, but the best time depends on what you want to do. Generally, April to October is optimal.

In spring and autumn, particularly May, June, September, and October, the weather is mild, ranging from +25 to +32 degrees. It’s ideal for cultural tours and enjoying the beautiful landscapes. Spring showcases stunning scenery, while fall offers abundant fruits and vegetables in markets.

Summer is hot, with temperatures reaching up to +45 degrees in July and August. It’s perfect for trekking tours in the Tien Shan mountains, horseback riding, and hiking. The pleasant temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees make mountain trekking enjoyable. However, weather can change quickly in mountainous areas; for instance, Son Kul can display all four seasons in a single day. Issyk-Kul Lake is a popular summer destination with its beaches and clear water.

It’s an excellent time for skiing, snowboarding, and freeriding, with the ski season lasting from December to March. The snowy landscapes, ski resorts, hot springs, and majestic mountains create a winter wonderland atmosphere.
